Episode 28 of ARRVLS tells the story of Junji Nishihata, a Japanese Canadian living in Tokyo at when the Earthquake and Tsunami of 2011 hit Japan.
Junji describes the Sakura season, when cherry blossoms begin to bloom in Japan, as one of the greatest events of the year. It's an event people in Japan eagerly anticipate. But because disaster struck Japan just weeks earlier, Junji says many people did not celebrate the Sakura season in 2011.
In "Sakura Season", originally composed for the episode, we move from the beginnings of spring into the heart of a national crisis.
